Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Silviculture Intern for Adams Lake, BC, an on-site internship with a May start. The four-to-eight-month role offers hands-on field experience in forest management and regeneration, working alongside professionals to build practical skills in a real-world setting.

You will gain exposure to GPS/mapping, data collection, and collaboration with contractors, while developing technical and analytical abilities for future forestry careers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a recognized university or college forestry program.
• Field season completed or interested in building practical silviculture experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; GIS/GPS is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to spend considerable time outdoors and travel on uneven terrain.
• Clear communication and ability to work with employees, clients, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience supporting sustainable forest management and forest regeneration activities.
• Collect and analyze field data while learning how silviculture programs support healthy, productive forests.
• Use GPS and mapping tools to navigate forest areas and support forestry projects.
• Collaborate with forestry professionals and contractors to help monitor and support field operations.
• Build technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while gaining real-world experience in the field.
