Job summary

Sicom Industries, part of Boundary Mining Group, seeks a dependable shop support person for our precision manufacturing environment on site in British Columbia. You will assist with shipping/receiving, material handling, component cleaning, and general shop tasks to keep production moving smoothly.

Candidates should have basic tool experience, a valid Class 5 licence, and a safety‑minded approach. Forklift or crane experience is a plus and attendance reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• A valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools is required.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, shipping and receiving, or shop support is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support shipping and receiving, including inspecting incoming materials and preparing outgoing shipments.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely, within training and authorization requirements.
• Complete local pickups and deliveries.
• Clean and prepare components to meet production and shipping requirements.
• Keep shop areas, machinery, and equipment clean and organized.
• Move and organize materials, tools, and components to support shop workflow.
• Cut, prepare, and deburr materials using bandsaws, cutting tools, and other equipment as trained.
• Paint components as required.
• Assist machinists, skilled tradespeople, and other shop staff with day‑to‑day tasks.
• Package and crate components and equipment securely to prevent damage during handling and transportation.
• Follow company safety procedures and quality standards.
