Job summary

United Gear & Machine Works Ltd., a division of Boundary Mining Group, is expanding its gearbox refurbishment shop and seeking a detail-oriented team member to support teardown, cleaning, and packing.

In this role you will handle shipping, receiving, forklift operations, and job-site logistics, while keeping parts and work areas clean, organized, and safe. A strong work ethic and the ability to work with little supervision are essential.

Qualifications

• Class 5 driver's license is required.
• Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane is considered an asset.
• Experience with basic hand and power tools is required.
• Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Shipping and receiving, including operating a forklift and overhead cranes.
• Local pick ups and deliveries.
• Cleaning and maintaining parts to ensure their optimal cleanliness.
• Keeping the shop area clean and organized.
• Shop floor coordination, to keep materials and equipment where they are needed.
• Clean machinery and vehicles.
• Cut, prepare, and deburr material (using bandsaw and zipcut).
• Painting of components.
• Assist shop staff and skilled tradespeople as required.
• Packaging and crating equipment and components safely.

Job Description: For over 60 years, United Gear has industrial specialized in gearbox refurbishment and enhancement. We manufacture internal and external gears, including spur, helical, bevel and worm. United Gear has set itself apart by providing the highest quality gearbox refurbishment services supporting Western Canada's mining, pulp and paper services, port services, and wind power industries. Our business expansion has increased the volume in our rebuild department, and we are looking for a detailed and hardworking individual to assist with shop support, focusing on component cleaning after gearbox teardown, handling, and shipping.

Key Responsibilities
