Job summary

ChampionX, now part of SLB, is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead a Pro-Rod Coiled Rod Micro Plant in Lloydminster, AB. You will oversee operations on customer sites and remote locations, ensuring on-time delivery, accurate invoicing, and effective inventory control.

The role requires strong leadership and communication, with emphasis on safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Day-to-day duties include dispatch, warehousing, and possible field welding as needed.

Qualifications

• Oilfield experience is an asset.
• Leadership experience is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• High School diploma.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Post secondary education an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in a Pro-Rod Coiled Rod Micro Plant.
• Oversee all aspects of the Pro-Rod Micro-Plant and field services, including order taking, invoicing and on-time delivery.
• Dispatch internal rod haul trucks and field welders; manage inventory of new and customer-inspected product.
• Operate overhead crane, fire blade welder and other micro plant equipment as required.
• Coordinate with Edmonton Pro-Rod manufacturing for inventory and market updates.
• Maintain relationships with 3rd party contractors, customers, and vendors.
• Assist with admin duties to resolve discrepancies and back up Operations Supervisor.
• Promote safety, integrity, continuous improvement, quality, and customer service.

What You Will Do

• Provide leadership in a Pro-Rod Coiled Rod Micro Plant
• Accountable for all aspects of the Pro-Rod Micro-Plant and field services. Includes but not limited to:
  • Order taking, including accurate on-time product delivery and timely invoicing
  • Dispatching Internal Rod Haul Trucks & Field Welders
  • Accurate inventory management of new product as well as customer inspected product
  • Operate Overhead Crane, Fire blade Welder & other Micro Plant Equipment as required.
• Communicate with Edmonton Pro-Rod manufacturing to ensure adequate inventory levels and communicate changing market conditions.
• Communicate with 3rd party contractors engaged in providing services on behalf of Pro-Rod, as well as maintain accurate consignment inventory where applicable.
• Establish, develop and maintain effective leadership and communication with Peers, customers, potential customers, 3rd party contractors, and Vendors.
• Whenever required, assist with Admin to resolve any discrepancies.
• Backup support for Operations Supervisor.
• Participates in, promotes and practices Safety, Integrity, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Respect for People, and Customer Service & Satisfaction.
• May be required to perform field welding on an as needed basis

Position Details

• Working at the Lloydminster facility dominantly
• Working on customer sites or remote locations occasionally
• Permanent

• Mainly working day shift operations, with overtime as required
• Weekend or night shift may be required dependent on business conditions

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous Oilfield Experience an asset
• Previous leadership experience required
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• High School diploma
• Basic experience with Microsoft office suite.
• Post secondary education an asset
