Job summary
Schlumberger Canada Limited is hiring a Journeyperson Maintenance Electrician for our Edmonton, AB site. You will order materials, repair and install electrical equipment, and perform preventative maintenance on a range of machines including Forges and CNCs.
The role requires a Red Seal Electrician and may involve supervising Apprentices. A rotating day/afternoon schedule applies, with in-town work and no travel required. Competitive benefits and safety-focused culture are part of the package.
Qualifications
- Red seal Electrician ticket required.
- Able to read schematics, OEM installation and maintenance procedures.
- Understanding measuring equipment/tools.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Knowledge of Electrical Code.
- Mechanically inclined and/or willing to grow knowledge in mechanics.
- Ability to supervise and multi-task.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Reliable.
Responsibilities
- Order and organize materials needed for the task.
- Repair equipment, machines and building electrical.
- Installation of new electrical equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machines (Forges, CNCs, Industrial Furnaces, Straighteners, Shot Peeners).
- Apply knowledge on power systems up to 1000V, IGBT Drive systems, and multi-voltage AC/DC control systems.
- Complete associated paperwork.
- Supervision of Apprentices may be required.
- Prioritize dispatch requests.
- Delegate tasks.
- Assist with other maintenance trades as required.
- Follow Lean manufacturing guidelines.
- Maintain a safe work environment and clean workspace.

- Installation of new electrical equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of machines including, but not limited to, Forges, CNC’s, Industrial Furnaces, Straighteners and Shot Peeners
- Apply comprehensive knowledge and/or experience on power systems up to 1000v, IGBT Drive systems, and multi-voltage AC and DC control systems
- Complete associated paperwork
- Supervision of Apprentice Electricians may be required

- Rotating Saturday shift work (once every 4-6 weeks)

- Dual ticketed tradesman would be considered an asset, specifically Millwright or Welding
- Able to read and understand schematics, detailed OEM installation, and maintenance procedures

- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft office, word, and access)
