Job summary

Canada Goose is seeking a Shop Floor Mechanic in Winnipeg to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment, including sewing machines. You will respond to maintenance requests, document downtime, and support efficient production on the shop floor.

Candidates should have extensive maintenance experience, 3+ years operating sewing equipment, a high school diploma, OHSA knowledge, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of Maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working on Industrial Sewing Machines.
  • Building trades’ certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of sewing equipment.
  • Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Fire Code.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks on production equipment and sewing machines.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from supervisors and Lead Mechanic.
  • Communicate downtime or issues affecting production to management.
  • Use hand and power tools, meters and handling equipment to service machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to PM program and schedule.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and proper parts inventory.
  • Assist with line design and programming PS700/800.
