Job summary

Quanex Building Products Corp. in Brampton, ON, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead the dock team, ensure safe and on-time shipments, and partner with production and Customer Service.

You will manage schedules, supervise staff, and uphold SOPs, 5S and continuous improvement. Requirements include a Bachelor's in logistics, 5+ years shipping experience, SAP knowledge, and APICS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in logistics, materials, or supply chain.
• Certified Supply Chain Specialist from APICS/ASCM preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience leading a shipping and receiving team.
• Knowledge of carriers serving the area.
• Ability to communicate with carriers and customers effectively.
• Inventory control concepts and procedures knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate the shipping and receiving dock staff.
• Schedule shipments and coordinate with manufacturing for mixed product loads.
• Communicate with Customer Service about shipments and issues.
• Administer reconsignment of freight, refusals and returned merchandise.
• Ensure SOPs and work instructions are known by department personnel.
• Schedule shipments, verify product availability and staging for shipment.
• Call carriers and customers to schedule pickups and prepare Bills.
• Ensure incoming goods are unloaded correctly and paperwork is processed.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reports, participate in annual inventory.
• Maintain dock and equipment cleanliness and contribute to 5S and continuous improvement.
