Job summary

Connect Tech is seeking a Shipping Lead in Ontario to oversee daily shipping operations, supervise staff, and ensure accurate, on-time delivery of products to customers. You will coordinate with production, sales, and customer service to resolve delays and optimize logistics.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, carrier management, and continuous improvement to reduce costs while maintaining high customer satisfaction. A strong background in shipping and ERP systems is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or business is an asset.
• 3+ years in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, carriers, and freight management.
• Proficiency in shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead daily operations of the shipping department, including order picking, packing, staging, and dispatching.
• Schedule and assign work to shipping personnel, ensuring adequate coverage and productivity.
• Access and manage carrier portals (e.g., FedEx, Purolator, UPS, DHL) to process shipments and generate shipping labels.
• Ensure packaging specifications are met for each product, including box selection and cushioning materials.
• Prepare and print shipping labels, packing slips, commercial invoices, and documentation for national and international shipments.
• Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments and coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups.
• Monitor shipping costs and recommend process improvements to reduce expenses.
• Maintain records of shipments, inventory movement, and department performance.
