Job summary

Buchner Manufacturing Inc. is hiring a Shipper-Receiver in Newmarket, Ontario. You will participate in inbound/outbound shipments, ensure proper documentation, and assist with warehousing duties in a busy facility.

The role supports loading/unloading vehicles, stock maintenance, and daily equipment inspection. Candidates must have forklift/bedmover experience and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate unpowered or powered equipment (handcart, pallet jack, forklift, bedmover).
• Daily inspection of forklift and bedmovers.
• Pick orders and prepare shipments (pulling, stacking, labeling, staging).
• Load/unload trucks and move product to proper locations in warehouse or yard.
• Verify shipment accuracy and maintain records; complete shipping documents.

The Shipper-Receiver works as part of a team responsible for all inbound/outbound shipments, loading/unloading of vehicles, completing proper documentation and processing of paperwork, warehousing of goods and periodic inventory counts.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

• Operate unpowered or powered equipment i.e., handcart, pallet jack, forklift, bedmover etc. (certification required for powered equipment)
• Daily inspection of forklift and bedmovers
• Pick orders
• Prepare shipments including pulling, stacking, labelling and staging. Could also include skidding, crating, strapping, and wrapping
• Loading/unloading trucks and moving product, equipment or bulk materials to proper locations in warehouse or yard by hand and/or using unpowered or powered equipment
• Verify accuracy of shipments and keep detailed records
• Complete required shipping documents
• Receive orders
• Load & unload pickup trucks, cube vans, commercial trucks and other vehicles
• Stock shelves with product
• Correspond with courier for pickup or drop off when required
• General housekeeping of work area
• Other duties as required

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will have exposure to a production facility with operating machinery, mechanical parts and moving vehicles. The noise level in this environment is moderate, and can reach very high levels in the production plant when certain machinery is running. Some areas of this environment are exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Hours of Work

40.0 – 47.5 hours/week; varies according to individual branch seasonal operating hours

Includes 30-minute unpaid meal break + 2 paid 15-minute breaks each shift

Overtime as required.

Pay Range:

$19-$21/hr
