Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming goods against packing slips, invoices and PO. Record shortages and report damages.
• Pick outgoing orders, verify counts, and prepare shipments with labels and documents.
• Operate reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks and move inventory safely.
• Supply raw materials to production and manage movements within warehouse.
• Enter shipping/receiving data in AX ERP and maintain logs/reports.

The role

We're hiring a Shipper/Receiver to join our Newmarket team. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor, you'll load, unload and move inventory safely and efficiently around our manufacturing warehouse and yard, and keep the production floor supplied with raw materials. You'll also handle the clerical side of shipping and receiving, from booking freight to preparing documents and keeping records accurate.

Receiving

• Inspect incoming goods and check the count or measure against packing slips, invoices and purchase orders
• Record shortages, reject damaged goods, and report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping
• Unpack, code and label goods, then route them to their designated storage locations

Shipping

• Pick outgoing orders accurately and verify every order and product count before it ships
• Assemble containers and crates, then pack, wrap and label goods with shipping instructions so they arrive undamaged
• Choose the shipping method, get freight quotes for outgoing shipments and for requests from Sales Representatives or other branches, and book courier and truck-line pickups
• Prepare and verify bills of lading, packing lists, delivery notes, customs forms, invoices and labels, by hand or in the system
• Carry large items to the trucks when needed, and stage packed orders in the right area of the warehouse at the end of each day

Warehouse and production

• Operate reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely to load and unload shipments and move inventory
• Supply raw materials to the production floor
• Control the physical movement of raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse
• Keep finished goods inventory accurate by storage location
• Manage the build and control of blanket products
• Follow safety standards and keep the warehouse clean and organized
• Support the warehouse team wherever needed

Records and admin

• Enter shipping and receiving information in our AX ERP system
• Keep shipping and receiving logs and reports accurate
• File purchase order and sales order paperwork
• Answer emails professionally and on time

What you bring

• 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse
• 2+ years of experience driving various forklifts
• Previous ERP experience
• Proficient computer skills, including strong knowledge of MS Office
• Clear verbal and written communication, including professional email
• Knowledge of standard warehouse practices and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
• Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment without losing accuracy
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

Assets: forklift certification, a valid driver's licence and a high school diploma
