Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Shipping & Receiving helper to assist with loading trucks, inspecting crates, and keeping a safe, organized work area. You will support inventory counts and work with the team to ensure timely shipment of goods, while operating equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform outdoor work in adverse conditions (heat/cold, etc).
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Forklift experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team to load trucks and sea containers for timely shipment.
• Inspect crates and bundles for damage during loading to protect product quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Assist in counting inventory to support control and reporting.
• Operate heavy equipment safely to facilitate loading/unloading.
• Communicate with supervisors to report issues and ensure workflow.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies to minimize risk.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for assisting both the parts and service departments with the general shipping and receiving of goods.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Collaborate with team members to load trucks and sea containers efficiently, ensuring timely shipment of finished goods.
• Inspect crates and bundles for damage during the loading process to maintain product quality and prevent losses.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times to promote safety and operational efficiency.
• Assist in counting inventory accurately as required to support inventory control and reporting.
• Operate a variety of heavy equipment safely and skillfully to facilitate loading and unloading tasks.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors to report issues and ensure smooth workflow.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to minimize risks and maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
