Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator (Shipping & Receiving) in Wheatley, Ontario for a permanent, full-time role in a refrigerated warehouse. The position offers competitive hourly pay, an afternoon shift premium, and long-term stability with direct-hire employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of warehouse, shipping & receiving, or distribution experience.
• Minimum 1 year of electric sit-down forklift experience.
• Experience with WMS, RF scanners, and barcode scanning.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated warehouse (35°F–40°F / 2°C–4°C).
• Willing to work overtime during peak production periods.

Shift Schedule: Afternoon Shift | Monday–Saturday | 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM (During peak season, shifts may extend up to 3:00 AM.)

Job Summary

A leading seafood processing and distribution company is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator (Shipping & Receiving) to support warehouse operations in a refrigerated environment. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, shift premium, and long‑term stability for candidates with forklift and warehouse experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an electric sit-down forklift to safely load, unload, transport, and store products throughout the warehouse.
• Receive inbound shipments and verify product quantities, quality, and documentation.
• Maintain cold-chain integrity by transferring products promptly to refrigerated or freezer storage.
• Pick, stage, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment using pick tickets.
• Use RF scanners, barcode scanners, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and process shipments.
• Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and delivery paperwork.
• Load outbound trucks safely while ensuring proper weight distribution and secure packaging.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary warehouse while following food safety and workplace safety procedures.
• Report damaged or incorrect products and assist with inventory control activities.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of warehouse, shipping & receiving, or distribution experience.
• Minimum 1 year of electric sit-down forklift experience.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and barcode scanners.
• Ability to safely load and unload trailers using a forklift.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated warehouse (35°F–40°F / 2°C–4°C).
• Willingness to work overtime during peak production periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing, seafood processing, refrigerated warehouses, or cold storage facilities.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, inventory control, and warehouse best practices.
• Familiarity with seafood products and product dating is an asset.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is an asset but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $22.00–$25.00/hour
• Afternoon Shift Premium: Additional $1.00/hour
