Job summary

Cascades is seeking a Set Up Operator for our Scarborough facility. The role involves obtaining production orders, setting up machinery, and ensuring stock specifications and material conditions are met.

You will also handle reporting, safety, and continuous improvement tasks on the midnight shift. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of machine operating experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs safely.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of machine operating experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain production orders and verify stock specifications and material condition.
• Perform machine set-up, operation, cleanup, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Complete production reports and administrative documentation accurately and on time.
• Perform production tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and packing materials.
• Submit maintenance requests and identify equipment issues requiring repair.
• Follow Health & Safety rules and company policies; maintain housekeeping.
• Support second and third operators with machine operation and daily production activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

By applying your expertise within our Scarborough facility as a Set Up Operator, you will:

Obtain production orders and verify stock specifications and material condition.

Perform all production activities, including machine set-up, operation, cleanup, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Complete production reports and administrative documentation accurately and on time.

Perform production tasks requiring repetitive hand movements, standing for extended periods, lifting, moving, and packing materials.

Submit maintenance requests and proactively identify equipment issues requiring repair.

Follow all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety standards, housekeeping practices, and government regulations.

Support second and third operators with machine operation and daily production activities.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to support operational requirements.
