Job summary

Cascades in St. Marys, Ontario is seeking an HR Manager to partner with operations at our flagship manufacturing facility. This guest-facing role drives culture, engagement, and workforce effectiveness in a 24/7 environment.

You will lead recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, and benefits, while partnering with leadership to plan and execute HR programs across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, IR, BA or related field.
• CHRP designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations and investigations.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried roles.
• Collaborate with leaders to build a positive, high-performing workforce.
• Support onboarding, development, retention, and recognition initiatives.
• Administer and communicate benefit programs for employees and leaders.
• Coordinate and execute annual HR programs and deadlines.
• Contribute to workforce planning and labor relations where applicable.
• Deliver HR initiatives to diverse audiences and on the production floor.

As the Human Resources Manager for our St. Marys Containerboard Packaging facility, you will serve as a trusted business partner supporting operational leaders and employees within one of Cascades' flagship manufacturing operations. Your Role

As HR Manager, you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential. Your scope includes:

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and workplace investigations.
• Lead and support full-cycle recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions.
• Partner with operational leaders to build and maintain a positive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
• Support employee onboarding, development, retention, and recognition initiatives.
• Administer and communicate benefit programs while serving as a resource for employees and leaders.
• Coordinate and execute annual HR programs, activities, and deadlines in alignment with the HR calendar.
• Participate in workforce planning, budgeting, and organizational initiatives.
• Assist with grievance management and support positive labor relations.
• Deliver presentations, facilitate employee meetings, and communicate HR initiatives effectively to diverse audiences.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, building relationships and supporting employees where the work happens.
• Respond as needed to workplace incidents and support critical employee and safety-related matters.

What You Bring

You're a natural fit for HR Managerif you have:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
• CHRP designation is considered an asset.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or unionized environment.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, performance management, recruitment, labor relations, and employment legislation.
• Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Proficiency with MS365 applications and HRIS systems.
