Description:

Course number and title: EESD02H3 - Contaminant Hydrogeology

Course description: Natural hydrochemical processes; the use of major ions, minor ions, trace metals and environmental isotopes in studying the occurrence and nature of ground water flow. Point and non-point sources of ground water contamination and the mechanisms of contaminant transport.

Number of Hours:0.5 FCE

Sessional dates of appointment: Specific duties will occur between January 1, 2027 and April 30, 2027.

Salary: Starting September 1, 2026 the following rates of pay apply for half courses (F or S), inclusive of vacation pay: $9,997.48 for a Sessional Lecturer I; $10,699.22 for a Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term; $10,699.22 for a Sessional Lecturer II; $10,953.96 for an Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term; $10,953.96 Sessional Lecturer III; and $11,228.90 for a Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences, or a closely related field, with specialized expertise in areas such as hydrogeology, groundwater flow, contaminant transport, and modeling of subsurface systems. Candidates should have experience with contaminant transport modelling tools and preferably university-level teaching experience.
