Position Summary

As a Service Technician, you will be the key point of contact for resolving technical issues at client locations, focusing on post-installation and warranty-related repairs. You will report directly to the Service Manager and work within a small, dedicated team. Your success will be driven by your commitment to quality, a hands-on approach, and your ability to solve problems efficiently.

This is a full-time salaried, onsite position requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in glass line and production settings, and possess a disciplined, punctual, and proactive work ethic. Above all, we’re looking for someone who fosters a safe, engaged, and collaborative workplace.

Primary Responsibilities And Expectations For This Role

• Full-time Availability: This position requires a commitment to working full-time hours.
• Respond to Client Locations: Investigate assigned service tickets and complete re-measures of windows and doors.
• Production Work During Training: Initially, you will be required to work in the production area as part of the training process. This will help you gain hands-on experience, and you may be asked to work in production during low service volumes as well.
• Excellent Customer Service: Advise customers of issues and possible solutions while being courteous and kind.
• Travel Flexibility: The role may require occasional travel, including overnight stays, depending on business needs.
• Complete Service Call Reports: Order necessary stock supplies to complete service requests.
• Window and Door Installations: Perform installations for smaller service jobs.
• Re-Measure Form: Specify any additional equipment or materials needed on the re-measure form to complete the job.
• Collaboration: Work with the Order Desk, Production, and Purchasing teams to address and resolve complex job-related questions or issues.
• Handle Deliveries/Pickups: As required for job sites.
  
  

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in residential or commercial Window and/or Door installation, or.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with trim (casings) work and framing in construction renovation projects or a related field.
• Knowledge in adhering to all health & safety practices with a working knowledge of relevant Ministry of Labour requirements.
• Excellent Customer Service skills with strength in negotiation.
• Good professional English verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to read/interpret drawings and architectural details.
• Demonstrated record of reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Possesses an Ontario G Class Driver License and excellent knowledge of the Central Ontario area.
• Must pass a criminal record, driver’s abstract, and reference background checks.
