Job Summary

Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical failures on production equipment.

Rebuild Hydraulic components including valves and pumps. Install hydraulic hoses and piping.

Travel to perform emergency service calls as necessary. Fill out repair orders and time sheets

in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities

Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job's key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting: Receive daily direction from Team Leader, Acquire necessary materials for assigned task through machining and/or assembly to specifications or instructions within the assigned time frame.
  • Travel: Periodically travel to local and out of province/country locations to assist in repair, start-up or disassembly of machines, Properly document and maintain expenses for travel
  • Repair and Calibration: Performs repairs on fixtures as needed, including replacing damaged components, adjusting alignment, and recalibrating equipment to maintain accuracy and functionality.
  • Optimization: Collaborates with engineering and production teams to optimize fixture designs and processes for improved efficiency, quality, and safety. This may involve making modifications to existing fixtures or developing new fixtures to meet evolving manufacturing requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintains detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and calibration procedures. This documentation helps ensure compliance with quality standards, facilitates troubleshooting efforts, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures machine is ready for dry cycle testing and documented. Notify supervisor throughout this process and also when complete.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Grade 12 education, 5 years of experience as a Hydraulics Technician- must be able to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematic.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as necessary to perform service work, document and maintain expenses for travel.
  • Machining Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a mechanical or technical field in a manufacturing / assembly with specific experience in finishing jigs and fixtures, knowledge of finishing components and their operations.
  • Mechanical Skills: Basic bench assembly skills as it applies to hydraulic components, Is in possession of the basic tools to complete assigned job. Strong mechanical aptitude is essential for understanding Hydraulic components, troubleshooting issues, and performing maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment is necessary for servicing fixtures effectively. Ability to utilize bench an assembly tools.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
