Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field service technician in Ottawa to service intrusion detection, CCTV, and access control systems. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure systems test successfully with the monitoring center.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to work independently or with a team, and willingness to travel out of town, overtime, and on-call rotations. Background checks will be conducted as part of the process.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of major security platforms (Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, DMP, DSC).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma is required.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Willing to work independently or with a team.
• Open to out-of-town work, overtime, and on-call rotations.
• Must hold a full G license.
• Reliability clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test operation.
• Install, repair and/or inspect intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Assist fellow technicians with repairs and perform minor battery replacements.
• Test system operation with the customer monitoring center to establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms and customer paperwork accurately.

How You Will Do It

• Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Performs Installation, repair and/or inspection of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, Access Control systems and alarm systems .
• Assists fellow service technicians with system repairs and completes minor repairs including battery replacement.
• Tests operation of system to the customer monitoring center to properly establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as required.

• Willing to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.
• Open to working out of town, overtime, and participating in on-call rotations.
• Full G driver's licence
• Must be able to obtain the reliability clearance required to meet business needs.

• Experience bending conduit.

Pay Range: $25-$32 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
