Job description

Service Technician

Status : Regular, Full time

Location : Grande Prairie, Alberta

Job Description

Reporting to the Business Centre's Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for completing a variety of services and customer support related to safety equipment, both in-house and in a mobile capacity. Duties include:

  • SCBA and gas detection certification, service and repairs
  • Regular maintenance and recertification of breathing air compressor systems
  • Quantitative Fit testing
  • Inspection and certification of fall arrest equipment

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Manage, test, repair, and recertify customer-owned equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local standards
  • Coordinate work orders with customer authorization
  • Maintain stock levels in the mobile unit
  • Keep accurate records of inspections, logs, invoices, timesheets, and notes
  • Update customer contact lists and service schedules
  • Develop growth in the customer portfolio through collaboration with clients, sales, and management
  • Assist other staff as workload permits
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Professional and courteous demeanor
  • Attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Manufacturer training or industry experience in safety equipment maintenance is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically
  • Training and certification will be provided as needed
