Job summary

United Rentals in Canada seeks a Service Manager to lead a major maintenance enterprise and hire a skilled team of Service Technicians. You’ll drive efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitable operations by leveraging leadership, maintenance knowledge and business management.

You’ll report to the Branch Manager and work closely with maintenance staff to ensure safe, timely repairs and optimum equipment availability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; trade-school degree a plus; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Extensive equipment fleet maintenance and leadership experience.
• 5 years' service and maintenance experience with at least 3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong motivational and leadership skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance accounting and P&L.
• Basic computer skills (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Motivate, coach and train technicians to exceed time and quality standards and follow repair processes.
• Staff location based on skills and workload.
• Responsible for R&M, P&L and associated costs/budget.
• Lead, plan, measure and improve service and maintenance performance metrics.
• Oversee parts department activities to optimize customer service and cost control.
• Evaluate performance and provide coaching and development.
• Promote safety culture through leadership and accountability.
• Other duties as needed.
