Job summary

Flexstaf IT is hiring a ServiceNow Senior Developer in Canada for onsite work in Nepean, ON. You will lead CMDB foundations, Discovery, MID Server setup, and IRE/IRR configuration, while also enabling Security Operations through integrations and automation.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development, REST/SOAP integrations, and strong JavaScript expertise, with emphasis on CMDB, Discovery, and Security Operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
• Strong experience with JavaScript and ServiceNow components (Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, Script Includes).
• Experience configuring ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, and MID Servers.
• Experience developing REST and SOAP API integrations.

Responsibilities

• Phase 1: CMDB Foundation—configure and optimize Discovery, install/maintain MID Servers, set up IRE/IRR, CMDB relationships, dashboards and health metrics.
• Phase 2: Security Operations Enablement—configure Security Operations components, develop integrations, automate workflows, SLA monitoring and incident response.

Work onsite - 5 days per week; Location: Nepean, ON

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Senior Developer to support the implementation and enhancement of the ServiceNow CMDB and Security Operations capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on development, configuration, integration, scripting, testing, and platform optimization.This role requires extensive experience with ServiceNow development, Discovery, integrations, workflow automation, and CMDB configuration.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1: CMDB Foundation (Primary Focus)

• Configure and optimize ServiceNow Discovery schedules.
• Install, configure, and maintain MID Servers.
• Configure Discovery credentials and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Develop and maintain Identification and Reconciliation Rules (IRE/IRR).
• Configure CI class structures and CMDB relationships.
• Build CMDB dashboards, reports, and health metrics.
• Support business service mapping activities.
• Develop and maintain demonstration environments and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Perform code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.

Phase 2: Security Operations Enablement

• Configure ServiceNow Security Operations components including Vulnerability Response and Incident Response.
• Develop integrations with vulnerability management and security monitoring tools.
• Configure automated workflows, routing rules, notifications, and assignment groups.
• Implement SLA monitoring and escalation processes for security incidents.
• Support security data ingestion, normalization, and workflow automation.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of CSDM principles and Service Mapping.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale ServiceNow environments.
