Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies - Canada is seeking a Service Administrator to support repair operations and service orders. You will estimate, quote, procure parts, and generate value-added reporting for our shop facility.

Key duties include creating orders, sourcing parts, costing, timecard entry, and communicating with customers and vendors to ensure timely, accurate service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP software, SAP preferred.
  • Related service experience in a workshop setting.
  • Understanding of procurement and inventory best practices.
  • Familiarity with steel components and welding/machining basics.
  • Quality assurance and quality control exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update service orders during the repair process.
  • Source and order component repair parts; stage parts for technicians.
  • Ensure accurate costing of parts and services.
  • Enter daily technician timecards.
  • Prepare basic repair quotes and discuss options with customers.
  • Communicate with vendors on order updates.
  • Collaborate in a team to maintain high quality and service.

Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Service Administrator position will play an integral role in driving continuous improvements by providing leadership relative to service administration and quality processes. Utilizing background knowledge and experience, coupled with insights and training, the successful candidate will be responsible for internal administration of service orders related to manufacturing and repairs, including estimating, quotation, procurement of parts and services, quality control, billing, and generating value added reporting specific services offered through our shop facility.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
  • Work in a safe manner, lead by example and participate in the company safety program.
  • Creating & update service orders as required throughout the repair process.
  • Source & order component repair parts. Stage parts for technicians.
  • Ensure accurate costing of all parts and services required to complete orders.
  • Enter daily timecards for our technicians.
  • Prepare basic component repair quotes and communicate options with the customer via phone and/or email.
  • Communicate with vendors on order updates.
  • Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service to Applied’s extensive customer base
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:
  • Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office and ERP software (SAP preferred)
  • Related service experience in a shop environment
  • Experience with procurement and inventory management best practices
  • General understanding of steel components, properties and related welding and machining procedures.
  • Service orientated with exposure to quality assurance and quality control.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
  • Ability to prioritize and number of tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured deadlines.
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail and strong root cause analysis skill.
  • Ability to use both written and verbal skills to effectively communicate technical information.
