Job summary

Kindred Food + Drink in Edmonton is hiring a Server Assistant to support Front of House by ensuring mise en place, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. You will assist Servers, handle food running, and contribute to a lively, hospitality-driven atmosphere in a fast-paced setting.

Applicant must have 1 year in a fast-paced restaurant, Smart Serve, and be available on weekends, evenings, and holidays. Edmonton Oilers event nights and Rogers Place experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1 year previous experience in a fast paced restaurant environment.
• Weekend availability/ evening/ Holiday.
• Valid Smart Serve Certification, required.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take direction and prioritize.
• High level of product knowledge.
• Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum.
• Knowledge of French cuisine is an asset.
• Event Night Availability (Able to work all Oilers Home Games + Concert/Event Nights in Rogers Place)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant functions and services when necessary.
• Assist with food running, ensuring that plates arrive to the proper guest (no auctioning off).
• Communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating.
• Practice a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required.
• Follow all food safety standards and systems.
• Empty garbage, change linen bags and dispose of garbage and recycling.
• Communicate to all Servers any comments or information provided by guests to ensure a positive, memorable experience.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, Server Assistants provide support to Servers by inspecting all tables for the proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness. They practice a high level of floor awareness and have exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items.
