Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Uxbridge is seeking a Server for a permanent part-time role (36 hours biweekly) with a $18.08 per hour wage. The position involves supporting residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, while ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day.

You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a culture that values dignity and quality of life for Canada’s seniors.

Qualifications

• Smart Serve or Serve It Right designation required.
• One year experience in dining room service.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of aging is asset.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass background checks.
• Sienna Senior Living may utilize AI to screen applicants.

What you’ll be doing

As a Server, you will support residents’ health and well-being by assisting with meal preparation and service, ensuring a safe, clean, and pleasant dining experience every day. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit

• Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables;
• Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef;
• Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department;
• Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures;
• Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready;
• Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness;
• Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

What you need to know

• Must have the Smart Serve designation OR Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year experience in dining room service;
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team;
• Safe Food Handling Certification preferred;
• Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset;
• Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds;
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required;
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit;
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check;
