Job summary

EllisDon in Mississauga is seeking a Workday Absence Specialist to design, configure, and support Absence and related HR processes. You will partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and IT to deliver scalable Absence solutions aligned to policy and compliance.

Responsibilities include system configuration, testing, data validation, and user readiness, plus leading deployments for Workday releases and cross-functional support for Payroll and Time Tracking.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Absence, including time off plans, leave of absence, accruals, eligibility, validations, and related business processes.
• Strong understanding of how Workday Absence connects with Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Reporting, Security, and integrations.
• Experience supporting Payroll or Time Tracking is preferred, especially in payroll impacts of absence, work schedules, calendars, time entry and approvals.
• Ability to translate absence policy requirements into clear Workday configuration guidance and testing scenarios.
• Willingness to work a minimum of two days per week in the Mississauga office and support after-hours during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design, governance, support, and continuous improvement of Workday Absence and related business processes.
• Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Operations, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver Absence solutions.
• Provide cross-functional Absence expertise and support for Payroll and Time Tracking design, testing, data validation, and user readiness.
• Maintain and optimize Workday Absence configuration, including eligibility, accrual rules, and security touchpoints.
• Resolve complex Absence incidents by performing root-cause analysis and coordinating cross-functional solutions.
• Monitor absence data quality through audits, testing, and reporting; recommend process improvements.
• Lead impact assessment, testing, and deployment activities for Workday releases related to Absence and connected areas.
• Develop documentation, training materials, and provide guidance to analysts and end users on Absence functionality.
