Overview

As the Senior Valuation Analyst, you will play a key role in assessing the value of Equiton’s real estate assets. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, you will be responsible for preparing detailed appraisals and valuation reports, while leveraging market intelligence to support strategic decision-making. This role involves close collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute valuations of multi-family residential and real estate assets including stabilized properties, acquisitions and new developments.
  • Coordinate with an external valuation firm for any third party valuations.
  • Research sales, rents, costs and conduct market research of comparable companies within the real estate and private equity industries to identify strengths and opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed appraisal and valuation reports for financial reporting, financing, acquisition and disposition.
  • Analyze, validate, and explain real estate investment opportunities to help identify potential risks.
  • Perform data mining to find patterns and trends that can drive operational efficiencies.
  • Actively contribute to research, report generation, and financial modeling.
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with quarterly / annual audit of the fund’s valuations, and more frequently if required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial and operational data.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting valuation practices.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on valuation findings.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines in all valuation activities.

This position is based out of our Burlington office and is an onsite role.

  • Familiarity with financial software and tools, such as Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Minimum 5 + years of experience of valuation and appraisal experience with a focus on multifamily residential properties real estate valuation, investment analysis.
  • Previous experience with major valuation / advisory firms
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Designated member of Appraisal Institute of Canada is required.
