Job summary

Sonova Canada in Kitchener is seeking a Senior UX Designer to shape the user experience across Sonova's ecosystem. You will identify design opportunities, craft concepts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Stäfa and Warsaw to deliver accessible, usable, and meaningful experiences.

The role emphasizes leading design concepts, conducting user research, and mentoring junior designers in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English is required, with a flexible hybrid work model in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field.
• 5+ years designing digital products for web and mobile (iOS and Android).
• Expert knowledge of user-centered design, UX research, and hypothesis-driven design.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma and modern prototyping tools; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving with data-informed design decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, organized, and effective in fast-paced environments.
• Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and AI-powered design tools.
• Experience mentoring designers and promoting design quality.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Craft compelling design concepts by distilling complex problems and insights into clear, elegant solutions from ideation to handover.
• Apply UCD and design thinking across wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, and journey maps.
• Contribute to Design Guidelines, design metrics, and success criteria at the Experience Design group level.
• Lead or participate in user research and evaluation in collaboration with the UX Research team.
• Own defined areas of the end-to-end experience; collaborate with Design, PMs, and R&D for integration.
• Support junior designers and contribute to quality and craft within the team.
