Job summary

Lineage is seeking an experienced Transportation Supervisor to oversee cross-functional dispatch coverage for Toronto West, California, eastbound and local operations. You will coordinate daily transportation activities, driver assignments and shipment delivery while working closely with drivers, customers, warehouse personnel and internal teams.

The role focuses on maintaining service levels, ensuring safety and compliance, and improving operational efficiency across all dispatch functions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in transportation, dispatch or planning.
• Experience coordinating company drivers, owner-operators and third-party carriers is an asset.
• Working knowledge of transportation systems, ideally TruckMate, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Post-secondary education in Transportation, Logistics, Operations or a related field is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing operational needs and identify process improvements.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety, regulatory compliance and operational accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate load planning, driver assignments, shipment tracking, pickups and deliveries across all dispatch functions.
• Optimize driver, truck and third-party carrier resources to meet customer schedules efficiently.
• Provide vacation, sick-day and workload coverage, adapting to changing operational priorities.
• Monitor shipment delays, missed appointments and service exceptions, escalating significant issues to the Transportation Manager.
• Maintain regular communication with drivers, customers, warehouse personnel and internal teams to ensure timely service and effective issue resolution.
• Support driver onboarding, coaching and performance improvement to promote safe driving practices and consistent service standards.
• Prepare and verify bills of lading, proof of delivery (PODs), customs documentation and cross-border shipping paperwork.
• Track operational KPIs, report delays and exceptions, and assist with performance reporting and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
