Job summary

RBC is seeking a Software Engineer to join a high-performing team focused on transforming merchant payment systems. You will contribute to modernizing enterprise platforms via API-driven services, cloud-native architectures, and data-driven insights, while supporting IBM Mainframe applications.

Work with stakeholders to design, build, and deploy scalable, secure solutions powering next‑gen merchant payments.

Qualifications

3–4 years hands-on experience (or strong internship/co-op) in Java/Spring Boot, React front-end, Node.js or Python, and SQL.
Exposure to IBM Mainframe - Batch Processing, JCL, COBOL, CICS, ZEKE, IMS, DB2.
Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and relational databases.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing concepts.

Responsibilities

Participate in technical analysis and solution design under senior guidance.
Contribute to Jira story creation, estimation, and sprint delivery.
Translate requirements into user stories and technical designs with mentorship.
Develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications including Spring Boot microservices and React front-ends.
Deliver solutions using Agile methodologies through CI/CD pipelines.
Engage in coding, peer reviews, unit/integration testing, and deployment support.
