Job summary

BlueCat, Toronto-based, seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to lead technology transactions and M&A initiatives. The role reports to the Global General Counsel and supports a global tech company with privacy, IP, and compliance focus.

The position is hybrid with flexibility between remote work and in-office in Toronto headquarters, offering a base salary plus discretionary bonus. Strong SaaS and data privacy experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Ontario Bar in good standing.
• 7+ years in SaaS/software law.
• Experience drafting technology licenses and SaaS agreements.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of data privacy and protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technology transactions including licenses, SaaS, and partnerships.
• Oversee due diligence and integration in M&A activities.
• Advise on IP, data protection and related topics.
• Manage outside counsel relationships globally.
• Oversee legal entity management across jurisdictions.
