Job summary

Softchoice in Toronto, ON, CA is seeking an Associate General Counsel to lead outbound licensing and sales contracts for Canadian public sector clients. This full-time on-site role reports to the Chief Counsel – Public Sector and negotiates high-value technology and services agreements while ensuring compliance with Canadian and international laws.

You will advise senior stakeholders, develop contracting policies, and train staff on procurement risks.

Qualifications

• Canadian public sector procurement rules and regulations knowledge
• Technology contracts experience
• Licensing, data privacy and security expertise
• Intellectual property understanding
• Experience with public sector technology transactions in multiple jurisdictions would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and drive strategic transactions and sales/revenue agreements for Canadian public sector customers
• Support compliance with Canadian and international contracting laws, rules, and regulations
• Develop contracting policies and train employees on company policies
• Advise senior executives on contracting issues and risk in fast-paced environments
• Lead negotiation of high-value technology and services agreements with public sector clients

Skills

Legal experience 7-10 years

Education

Juris Doctor (or equivalent)

Law degree from a reputable law school
