Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a commercial attorney to join as Legal Counsel – Procurement in a hybrid role based in Toronto.

You will negotiate high-value contracts, advise stakeholders, and help scale procurement processes while staying compliant with privacy and IP considerations.

Candidates should have 5+ years’ experience, a JD with bar membership, and a track record in tech or law-firm environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial contract experience.
• Experience at law firm and/or high-growth tech company.
• JD with active bar membership in your jurisdiction.
• Understanding of data privacy requirements.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, dynamic and results-driven with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal partner to global Procurement and advise cross-functional stakeholders on third-party contracting matters.
• Draft and negotiate buy-side agreements, including SaaS, software, marketing, facilities, professional services, and real estate agreements.
• Provide practical legal guidance on complex, high-value procurement transactions and escalating issues for business approval.
• Develop and maintain scalable procurement and legal review processes.
• Develop and maintain legal knowledge-management resources, including procurement playbooks and templates.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and contract lifecycle management tools to scale procurement legal support.
• Develop and deliver training to Procurement and business stakeholders on contracting processes and risk.
• Maintain awareness of developments in data privacy, AI, IP, technology contracting and vendor risk.
