Job description

We're BlueCat—a Great Place to Work for good reason. Our team solves critical network challenges for some of the world's largest organizations. In simple terms, we manage the systems that keep networks running smoothly, securely, and reliably—the backbone infrastructure that powers digital transformation for enterprises globally. Our Intelligent Network Operations platform delivers and enables AI-driven agentic ops at scale, automating and simplifying how companies manage, secure, and optimize their networks.

But what makes us different is how we work: we believe great work happens in an environment where you're trusted, heard, and supported. With teams globally, we're building a workplace culture that values collaboration and integrity as much as innovation. If you're looking to advance your career with a company that invests in its people, this is it.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel based in Toronto with strong technology background to join our organization as a senior member of our Legal team, reporting to the Global General Counsel. This is a broad role spanning technology transactions, M&A support, compliance and privacy for a global technology company. Role is hybrid with flexibility between remote and in-office at our Toronto headquarters.

Responsibilities
  • Own technology transactions end-to-end, such SaaS, software licensing, software development, technology partnerships and services engagements.
  • Drive internal compliance initiatives on topics such as privacy, open source, marketing, export compliance and others.
  • Take a lead role in M&A, overseeing due diligence and driving post-acquisition integration.
  • Advise on intellectual property, open source, data protection and similar topics.
  • Manage legal entities across our global jurisdictions.
  • Manage outside counsel relationships around the world.
Qualifications
  • Active member in good standing with Law Society of Ontario.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a top-tier law firm or corporate legal department in SaaS/software.
  • Extensive experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements, including software licenses, SaaS agreements, technology development contracts and partner agreements.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with ability to support fast-paced sales and partner transactions and advise internal sales clients.
  • Knowledge of data privacy requirements and experience with data protection agreements.

This position offers a base salary range of $190,000 - $208,000 CAD per year plus participation in a discretionary bonus plan. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and qualifications. The role is for an existing vacancy.

Our comprehensive benefits encompass your health, financial well-being, and overall wellness, and we are committed to providing an exceptional work environment, enriching employee programs, and fostering a remarkable company culture. At our core, we champion values such as transparency, curiosity, respect, and above all, the pursuit of enjoyment.

In addition, we offer a range of appealing perks, including:

  • A Professional Development Budget
  • Dedicated Wellness Days and Wellness Week
  • A Lifestyle Spending Account
  • An Employee Recognition Program
