Qualus is seeking a Project Engineer - Substation in the T&D business. The role can be based in Calgary, AB or in the Vancouver, BC office on a hybrid schedule.

You will coordinate high voltage substation projects from conception to construction, working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver design, procurement, and commissioning. The successful candidate will have 8–15 years of substation experience, a Canadian PE or eligibility, and strong communication skills, with familiarity in CSA,

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree with a Canadian Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.) or eligible for registration with EGBC.
• 8–15 years of substation electrical experience in a Transmission & Distribution Utility or EPC organization.
• Experience interfacing design with other substation disciplines such as structural and protection & control.

Responsabilités

• Lead engineering coordination on 12 kV to 500 kV transmission and substation projects from concept through construction.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, structural, telecom, and protection & control teams to meet schedules.
• Prepare construction specifications and manage scopes, estimates, budgets and changes.
• Review vendor documents against specifications and ensure design meets project requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; ensure safe practices and budgets/schedules are followed.
