Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Engineer - Civil Site for our T&D Canada operations in Vancouver, BC or Calgary, AB. You will lead civil site design for substations, coordinating with other disciplines and clients to deliver reliable power infrastructure.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with Canadian codes, and manage design deliverables from concept through construction, across a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree + Canadian P.Eng. or eligibility to register with EGBC (or equivalent).
• 12+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Experience with utility substations (grading, drainage, stormwater, earthworks, access roads).
• Knowledge of Canadian codes/standards incl. OH&S and municipal/environmental regs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil design, QA/QC review and calculations from concept to detailed design for substation sites.
• Perform analyses using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GIS and hydraulic/drainage tools.
• Prepare and review design documents, reports and drawings.
• Review vendor/contractor documents against project specs and standards.
• Respond to field requests and deliver data to clients.
