Job summary

Qualus Corporation in Vancouver, BC seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural design and analysis for substation facilities, reporting to the Director of Engineering. The role focuses on heavy industry projects with a fast-paced environment.

You will perform structural analysis with SAP2000, LPILE, SAFE, and MathCAD, review documents, and coordinate project planning, including budget and scheduling. A P.Eng. designation or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Structural Engineering degree and P.Eng. or eligible for EGBC registration.
• 8–10+ years of structural design experience.
• Experience with utility substation projects; BC Hydro asset experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards, NA transmission standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to structural design, analysis, and QA/QC from concept to detailed design for substations and related structures.
• Perform structural analysis using SAP2000, LPILE, SAFE, and MathCAD.
• Prepare and review design documents, reports, plans, and construction specifications.
• Review vendor documents against specifications.
• Coordinate project resources, scope, schedule, and budget; mentor engineers; collaborate with other disciplines.
