Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks a Senior Structural Design Engineer in the UK to lead complex steel design projects. You will manage from concept through to completion, coordinating with clients, engineers, architects and subcontractors, while mentoring graduates and ensuring compliance with codes and QA procedures.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in structural steel design, proficiency in Tekla tools, and strong project management and communication skills to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in structural steelwork design.
• Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Incorporated or Chartered status encouraged.
• Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer and MasterSeries.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural steelwork design projects from initial design through to completion.
• Undertake structural steel member design and steelwork connection design.
• Coordinate design information with clients, engineers, architects and subcontractors.
• Raise technical queries and resolve design issues to keep projects on track.
• Ensure projects are delivered within design budgets and timescales.
• Attend project meetings and liaise with internal teams to meet requirements.
• Support development and mentoring of graduate design engineers.
• Promote quality assurance and continuous improvement.
