Job summary

JMT Consultants Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer – Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary structural projects from planning to delivery.

You will manage client relationships, budgets, and schedules while ensuring code-compliant, high-quality design deliverables. The role requires strong technical leadership in structural steel design, detailing, and construction, plus the ability to coordinate across design teams, consultants, contractors, and fabricators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; P.Eng. in Canada or eligible for registration.
• Minimum 4+ years of structural engineering experience with project coordination or management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel design, detailing, fabrication, and erection.
• Experience with Canadian building codes and structural design standards; favorable with U.S. projects (AISC).

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from kickoff through design, coordination, delivery and closeout.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, detailers and erectors.
• Manage scope, schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables and hours; address risks proactively.
• Provide technical leadership on design reviews, calculations and drawings for accuracy and code compliance.
• Coordinate requirements with detailing, fabrication, erection, and architectural disciplines.
• Lead RFIs, design revisions, scope changes and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct project meetings and communicate status, priorities and decisions.
