Job summary

EastPoint, a Halifax-based multi-discipline architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience. You will lead conceptual and detailed structural design for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects, mentoring junior engineers while coordinating with clients, architects and BIM professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or degree in civil/structural engineering required; master's considered an asset.
• 10+ years of relevant structural engineering experience in design and construction of buildings/infrastructure.
• Eligible for P.Eng in Nova Scotia or to obtain registration.
• Experience with ETABS or similar structural analysis software.
• Strong knowledge of CSA codes: S6-19, A23.3, S16, O86.
• Analytical, precise calculations and design with high accuracy.
• Willingness to travel across Canada up to 5 days per 60-90 days.
• Must meet CISD Reliability Status clearance within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed structural design for buildings, wharves, piers, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Manage structural scope across feasibility, design, tendering, construction and commissioning; coordinate with disciplines.
• Perform and review structural analyses, drawings, specs, reports, and change orders for quality and codes compliance.
• Interpret geotechnical, bathymetric, and topographical studies to inform foundations and structures.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, BIM technicians, contractors and subconsultants to resolve issues.
• Provide technical guidance, quality reviews, and mentorship to engineers and designers.
