A leading civil & structural engineering consultancy delivering major projects across data centres, logistics, energy, pharma, retail and large‑scale development is seeking an exceptional Structural Technical Director. This is a senior technical specialist role — ideal for someone who wants to stay deeply hands‑on, solve complex engineering challenges, and influence technical excellence across the business.

The Role

You’ll act as the go‑to expert for complex structural design problems, providing advanced technical direction across multiple project teams. Expect involvement in concept development, detailed structural analysis, design reviews, buildability assessments, and solving non‑standard engineering challenges. You’ll help shape design standards, mentor engineers, and contribute to a Centre of Excellence focused on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Work On

• Leading the technical design of complex structural projects
• Developing efficient, elegant and buildable structural solutions
• Advanced analysis across steel, concrete, masonry and timber
• Reviewing high‑risk or complex designs and providing specialist guidance
• Supporting project teams with alternative approaches and engineering judgement

What You Bring

• Chartered Engineer (CEng MIStructE or CEng MICE)
• Significant consultancy experience in structural design
