Description

Our mission - what we’re up to at TELUS Health

TELUS Health has big ambitions and we’re working hard to achieve them. We’re on a mission to create a healthier world one life at a time. We have a new leadership team, and new organizational structure to better serve our customer groups. We’re building the capabilities to bring our strategic ambitions to life.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

The TELUS Health Strategy team is responsible for working collaboratively with each Business Unit (BU) to drive our corporate strategy, business planning, business unit strategy, and large-scale strategic initiatives that evolve the health portfolio. We are also responsible for providing strategic intelligence to the business to support corporate development, growth, and decision-making.

We are looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization. This position combines driving business unit (BU) strategies and delivering transformative organizational initiatives. The ideal person will act as a strategic partner to BU leaders, align priorities with corporate goals, and lead transformative efforts to uncover opportunities, improve performance, and enable growth. You’ll combine strong analytical skills with business acumen to deliver actionable insights and solutions that drive measurable impact. As a Senior Strategy Manager, reporting to the Head of Strategy, you will be a critical cross-functional change agent, working closely with both internal team members and external partners to shape the future of digital and physical health.

Here’s how

This role combines traditional strategy consulting skills with sharp financial and data capabilities to support business growth, market expansion, and strategic investments. You will play a critical role in shaping TELUS Health strategic direction and long-term vision.

As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will lead strategic planning, drive transformative initiatives and deliver data-informed insights that guide critical decisions. Here’s a sample of the exciting things you will be doing:

  • Strategic Partnering and Execution: Build trusted relationships across the business, acting as a key advisor to leaders. You’ll translate long-term company goals into actionable roadmaps, perform gap analyses to identify strategic opportunities and ensure alignment between business units and corporate priorities. You’ll develop 3–5 year strategic plans that incorporate both market trends and competitive insights.
  • Insight Development and Financial Modelling: Leverage data to craft compelling strategies, evaluating new market opportunities, forecasting revenue potential and assessing investment cases. You’ll develop sophisticated financial models, conduct ROI and sensitivity analyses and create scenario planning models to evaluate trade-offs. Incorporate cost-benefit analyses into all major strategic projects to ensure alignment with value creation goals.
  • Driving Growth and Innovation: Identify whitespace opportunities, synthesize market trends, and monitor the competitive landscape to build business cases for new ventures or product rationalization. Participate in due diligence for strategic initiatives, evaluate business models, and explore automation and digital transformation to unlock untapped potential. Act as an “intrapreneur,” connecting dots across TELUS, TELUS Health, and TELUS International to surface new opportunities and foster collaboration.
  • Operational Excellence and Value Creation: Lead process improvement initiatives, identifying cost savings opportunities and implementing strategic cost-reduction programs. Optimize vendor and procurement strategies, including vendor consolidation, and establish best-in-class benchmarks across regions and business units. Design and maintain operational efficiency metrics, internal benchmarking systems and dashboards that provide actionable insights for leadership.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Manage cross-functional projects with a focus on stakeholder engagement, effective communication and timely execution. Balance day-to-day responsibilities with forward-looking initiatives while anticipating future needs and driving performance improvement.
  • Continuous Learning and Adaptability: Conduct targeted research, synthesize findings and adapt tools and methodologies to produce meaningful insights. Maintain a growth-oriented mindset, seeking professional development opportunities and applying innovative solutions to strategic challenges.

By combining analytical rigour, strategic foresight and a growth-oriented mindset, you’ll help steer the organization toward its next phase of innovation and success.

Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

You are likely in a similar strategy or internal consultant role today, with many of the following abilities and expertise:

  • You bring demonstrated, sustained experience developing strategy and market intelligence, preferably with consulting experiences, private equity, venture capital, healthcare or corporate wellness organizations.
  • You are known for your business acumen and have experience communicating at the executive level.
  • You are financial literate and possess numerical proficiency, including data analysis.
  • You are adept at constructing arguments using quantitative and qualitative data and are able to create structure in what may initially seem ambiguous (“navigating through the grey”).
  • You are a skilled user of contemporary productivity tools, such as Google Docs (memos), Slides (PowerPoint), and Sheets (Excel).
  • You have a degree and/or work experience in business, finance, psychology, behavioural economics, entrepreneurship, consulting, research or liberal arts.

Great to haves:

We are especially motivated to connect with individuals with one or more of the following:

  • French-English bilingualism or other multi-lingual, multicultural knowledge and abilities.

By applying to this role, you understand and agree that your information will be shared with the TELUS Group of Companies’ Talent Acquisition team(s) and/or any leader(s) who will be part of the selection process.

Salary Range: $99,000-$149,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance, experience and location. Additionally, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:

  • Comprehensive total rewards package highlighting competitive salary and bonus structures, minimum 3 weeks of vacation, and flexible benefits plan to meet the needs of you and your family.
  • Flexibility to work in-office, virtually or a combination of both.
  • Generous company matched pension and share purchase programs.
  • Opportunity to give back to communities in which we work, live and serve.
  • Career growth and learning & development opportunities to develop your skills.
  • And much more …

Please note that the compensation shown in the job posting may be subject to change in 2025.
