Job summary

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver end-to-end full-stack solutions for the Private Equity analytics platform. You will work with PE teams to build AI agents, data pipelines, and analytical models, with production ownership from scoping through release.

You will leverage Python/JavaScript, Databricks, and Azure, delivering scalable apps, secure APIs, and robust CI/CD, while mentoring teammates and shaping engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of related experience with production applications.
• Strong fundamentals in Python/JavaScript/TypeScript and full stack development.
• Advanced SQL and Python proficiency.
• Experience building agentic workflows and LLM-powered apps.
• Hands-on Databricks and Azure experience.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools including Claude ecosystem.
• Experience with transactional and analytical data stores.
• Data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of full-stack solutions for PE business units.
• Design architecture, APIs, and DevOps for scalable applications.
• Build agentic workflows and AI agents to process documents and data.
• Own delivery from scoping to production release and support.
• Develop data pipelines with clear lineage and auditability.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team standards.
• Stay current with AI/Databricks ecosystem and apply value-driven capabilities.
