Job summary

BMC Software in Canada is seeking a Senior AI Data Architect / Solution Engineer to design scalable trusted data architectures and build AI products for business use. You will lead architecture decisions, develop data agents and semantic layer, and mentor engineers while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver outcomes that unlock value across enterprise systems.

You will work with the Director and Enterprise Architect, set patterns, oversee end-to-end features, and ensure governance

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data architecture and hands-on engineering in enterprise environments.
• Strong Python and SQL with experience on Snowflake and DBT.
• Proven experience designing LLM/agentic solutions including RAG and tool calling.
• Deep understanding of the semantic layer connecting data to business meaning.
• Ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication and execution leadership in fast-moving settings.

Responsibilities

• Design reference architecture and delivery patterns for governed data at scale.
• Architect and build the Data Agent and agentic workflows.
• Co-design the semantic layer powering analytics and AI.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers.
• Translate business problems into technical requirements and manage stakeholders.
• Own features end-to-end and drive progress amid evolving requirements.
