Job summary

Quandri Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior data engineer to own our Databricks data lake end-to-end, manage pipelines and backfill strategies, and drive data governance across products.

You will collaborate with software/AI teams, design scalable data models, and mentor engineers. Join a fast-moving team headquartered in Vancouver, BC, shaping AI-powered insurance workflows with cutting-edge cloud architectures and secure data handling.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Owning maintenance and implementation of databases, data pipelines and backends.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing multi-tenant data systems and handling PII.
• Data modeling knowledge (medallion, star schema, Snowflake).
• Cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with dbt, Databricks Workflows, Airflow, Dagster or equivalents.
• Proficiency in data visualization dashboards (Databricks SQL, Tableau/Power BI).
• Experience building or supporting AI products.
• Proficiency in data governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the Databricks data lake end-to-end and manage dbt models and quality checks.
• Set up CDC and streaming ingestion from multiple sources into the data lake with idempotency.
• Own data services, schema migrations, versioned APIs, provenance and audit trails.
• Build AI data infrastructure including embedding pipelines and vector stores.
• Develop and maintain cloud databases with the Infrastructure team.
• Maintain data management and security policies.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product and business units; communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Mentor engineers on data best practices.
