Job summary

JUDI.AI, based in Vancouver, seeks a Senior Software Engineer – Architecture to shape and implement the technical design of our fintech platform. You will design service APIs, refactor production code across backend and frontend, and partner with product teams to translate ambiguous requirements into practical designs.

The role emphasizes evolving a service-based, loosely coupled architecture, strong API and security fundamentals, and heavy use of AI-assisted tooling in a hybrid Vancouver office

Qualifications

• Strong API design judgment and REST semantics.
• Strong code design: readable abstractions and safe refactoring.
• Fundamentals of application security, OAuth/OIDC/JWT, OWASP Top 10.
• AI fluency with AI agents for implementation, review, debugging and docs.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript/React/C#/.NET or similar.
• Ability to reason across distributed systems and service contracts.
• Strong written communication for technical docs and PR explanations.

Responsibilities

• Design clear REST APIs and service contracts using OpenAPI-first thinking.
• Review API contracts, database schema changes, configurations, dependencies and cross-service design decisions.
• Build and refactor production code across backend services and frontend apps.
• Evolve a service-based architecture with loose coupling and clear data ownership.
• Partner with product teams to turn ambiguous requirements into practical designs.
• Work in cloud-based infra: identity, observability, CI/CD, deployments, secrets, networking.
• Document design decisions and migration plans clearly for other teams.
• Use AI coding agents and AI tooling as part of daily engineering work.
• Strengthen test strategy around API behavior and integration points.
• Own quality through rigorous code review highlighting risks and security concerns.
