Job summary

Diligent, based in Vancouver, BC, is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Platform AI Service team. The role focuses on designing, building, and operating core AI-enabled services on AWS serverless tech, translating AI research into production-grade capabilities for the governance, risk and compliance platform.

You’ll own services end-to-end, collaborating with AI researchers, product managers, and other engineers, and applying AI-assisted development tools with emphasis on secure, observable,

Qualifications

• Professional software engineer with web app experience in agile environments.
• Hands-on with AWS services and infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform).
• Backend: RESTful APIs, Node.js/TypeScript or Python, SQL databases (PostgreSQL).
• Frontend: React or Angular frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable, fault‑tolerant AWS serverless solutions.
• Collaborate with AI researchers/engineers to translate AI capabilities into production services.
• Build and maintain pipelines to deploy, monitor, and manage AI services at scale.
• Use AI-powered development tools responsibly to accelerate delivery and quality.
• Participate in architecture discussions and customer-focused design decisions.
• Work in an agile team, aligning with DORA delivery metrics.
