Job summary

Conexiom in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Principal Engineer to guide the architectural transformation of our SaaS platform. You will shape the future architecture, influence engineering, product, data, AI, and reliability teams across the company.

You will partner with executives and engineers to evolve from a collection of products into a unified cloud-native platform, drive API-first design, scalability, and developer tooling, while balancing innovation with business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale SaaS platforms.
• 5+ years operating at Staff, Principal, Distinguished Engineer, or equivalent architecture leadership level.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, platform architecture, cloud-native development, and software modernization.
• Proven success leading architectural transformations in complex production environments.
• Strong experience with public cloud platforms.
• Expertise in APIs, event-driven architectures, distributed messaging, microservices, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience operating highly available, mission-critical systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of software delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion Conexiom's long-term technical architecture vision.
• Drive modernization initiatives across applications, services, integrations, data, and infrastructure.
• Establish architectural principles, standards, and governance processes.
• Lead architecture reviews and guide critical technology decisions.
• Create reference architectures that enable scale, resiliency, extensibility, and rapid innovation.
• Help evolve toward a unified platform architecture and improve developer tooling.
