Job summary

Wind River Kanata, ON, is seeking a Senior Engineer (SDET) for Cloud to ensure the reliability of the Wind River Conductor platform built on Kubernetes and cloud-native tech. The role blends software development with advanced test automation for large-scale distributed systems.

You will design scalable test strategies, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with development, QA/PV, and platform engineering teams to improve release quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5–7+ years of software engineering or SDET experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience testing and deploying software with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams.
• Experience building or testing distributed systems.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software for a complete cloud infrastructure software stack.
• Design and build scalable test automation for Wind River Conductor; design and implement high-quality code based on Kubernetes, containerized applications and distributed cloud systems.
• Develop end-to-end, integration, and system-level tests for distributed cloud systems.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automation-first practices.
• Validate Kubernetes-based deployments across distributed environments.
• Own regression testing strategy, prioritization, and execution.
• Investigate and debug issues during product verification and customer integration.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure.
• Work with open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Helm, Ansible, and Docker.
• Support platform upgrades, automation, and lifecycle validation.
• Contribute and collaborate across development, QA/PV, and platform engineering teams.
