Job summary

Canada Life in Ontario is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer Specialist to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud and container platform solutions. You will enable development teams through DevOps tooling, automation, and IaC.

The role covers cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and security/compliance, with opportunities to mentor peers and contribute to platform observability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in DevOps, Cloud or SRE within a large enterprise.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile, and DevOps practices.
• Experience designing cloud-native platforms and IaC with Terraform.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope and deliver modern cloud solutions that are secure, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives.
• Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure and container platforms, including Kubernetes-based environments.
• Drive adoption of DevOps principles and execute on the enterprise DevOps framework.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and automation tooling such as Ansible.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex platform, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
• Support and evolve platform observability, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence practices.
