Job summary

Wind River is seeking a seasoned SDET/Software Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of the Wind River Conductor platform within the Wind River Cloud ecosystem. You will blend software development with advanced test automation for large-scale distributed systems built on Kubernetes and cloud-native tech.

You’ll design scalable tests, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across global teams to drive automation-first validation and higher release quality in a hybrid Canada

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 5–7+ years of software engineering or SDET experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience testing and deploying software with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams.
• Experience building or testing distributed systems.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software for a complete cloud infrastructure software stack.
• Design and build scalable test automation for Wind River Conductor; implement high-quality code based on Kubernetes, containerized applications and distributed cloud systems.
• Develop end-to-end, integration, and system-level tests for distributed cloud systems.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automation-first practices.
• Validate Kubernetes-based deployments across distributed environments.
• Own regression testing strategy, prioritization, and execution.
• Investigate and debug issues during product verification and customer integration.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure.
• Work with open-source technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenStack, Helm, Ansible, and Docker.
• Support platform upgrades, automation, and lifecycle validation.
• Contribute and collaborate across development, QA/PV, and platform engineering teams.

YOUR ROLE

Within the Wind River Cloud team, this role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of the Wind River Conductor platform, a key orchestration engine in the Wind River Cloud Platform (WRCP). The position blends software development and advanced test automation to validate large‑scale distributed systems built on Kubernetes, containers, and cloud‑native technologies.

How You Will Contribute

In your daily work, you will:

• Develop and test software for a complete cloud infrastructure software stack
• Design and build scalable test automation for Wind River Conductor Design and implement high‑quality code based on Kubernetes, containerized applications and distributed cloud systems

• Experience with RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, YAML, and TOSCA
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
• Background in high‑availability or carrier‑grade systems
• Contributions to open‑source projects
• Experience with performance, scale, or chaos testing

Compensation

This role is compensation range is between $90,000 to $120,000 CAD plus annual incentive plan bonus. Compensation is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members.
